Garda searches targeting criminal activity continue in Limerick

GARDAÍ in Limerick are undertaking an intelligence led operation to target criminal activity across the city and county.

17 searches are being conducted this Thursday lunchtime by Gardaí from Limerick Division and the Criminal Assets Bureau supported by Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), the Garda Armed Support Unit and the Garda Dog Unit.

In a statement issued this morning, a Garda spokesman said that “open areas of land in the Southill area of Limerick City are also being searched by An Garda Síochána supported by the Irish Defence Forces.”

Gardaí confirmed to the Limerick Post that the searches form part of an “ongoing operation targeting criminal activity in the area.”

At the time of writing, the Garda spokesman said they were not in a position to provide further details.
