SHAY McCarthy is amongst five new additions to the Munster Greencore Academy.
A product of Richmond, the 20-year-old winger has featured more recently with Young Munster and has trained with the academy for the last year.
The other recruits are Dylan Hicks (Bantry Bay), Brian Gleeson (Thurles), George Hadden (Gorey), and Ben O’Connor, recent winner of an All-Ireland Under-20 hurling championship medal with Cork.
Gleeson and Hadden starred with Ireland in their Under-20 Grand Slam win in the spring.
Progressing to the senior squad ahead of the new season are Patrick Campbell and Cian Hurley.
