LIMERICK’S Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship is the most demanding of the lot, with teams engaged in seven fixtures before qualification is determined for the semi-final stage.

It’s one which incorporates eight clubs, all pretty much evenly matched.

After a couple of rounds, three teams – Bruff, Na Piarsaigh and Blackrock – are all unbeaten, with Bruff and Na Piarsaigh set to collide in a tasty round three fixtures in Fedamore next Sunday (1pm).

The outcome here will give a fair indication as to the real frontrunners to win out a championship that carries with it promotion to the senior ranks.

Bruff are fancied to win.

Elsewhere, Dromin/Athlacca clash with Newcastle West in Askeaton on Thursday (7pm) and Cappamore meet Glenroe in Hospital on Friday (7pm).

Dromin/Athlacca and Cappamore are both chosen to collect the points avaialable.
