Shannon Airport sees almost 1 million passengers in first six months of the year

SHANNON Airport continues to shatter expectations for passenger footfall, seeing almost a million travellers pass through the gates between January and June this year.

Figures taken in the first half of the year were the highest in over a decade, with 902,603 passengers recorded as travelling through the popular Mid West airport.

This marks a 41 per cent increase on figures recorded for the same period in 2022, and a six per cent increase on pre-Covid figures in 2018.

“With the highest number of passengers recorded for this period since 2009, we are thrilled to witness the resounding success of our 2023 summer schedule, and our network of 35 destinations to the UK, Europe, and the US for this year,” said Shannon Airport Group CEO Mary Considine.
