Lo-fi synthwave debut from telekura

WAVES of wonky synths and fuzzy guitars introduce telekura on their debut single ‘Clown’. The psychedelic pop duo are based in Dublin and Stockholm formed by Rachel (formerly of Lost Weekend) and Limerickman Stephen Purcell (formerly of We Should Be Dead).

Deriving their name from a Japanese telephone-based dating service, the pair blend vivid, bombastic analogue synth-scapes with distant, hazy vocals, which capture the emotional highs and lows of solitude in the information age.

telekura’s debut single is a jaunt into a recurring nightmare of murderous clowns. Set against a carnivalesque backdrop, their wonk-pop stylings, filled with harmony and fuzzy guitars, capture the feverish high of sleeplessness and confusion. ‘Clown’ by telekura is out now on all streaming platforms via Reckless Records.
