A POPULAR artist who rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s is set to play an intimate show in Limerick next summer.
Paul Weller will play in the grounds of King John’s Castle on July, 3 2024.
The British singer first rose to fame as the frontman of The Jam and later The Style Council, before embarking on a solo career.
Speaking at the announcement of Paul Weller’s Shannonside concert, Mick Dolan said that Weller is “an incredible artist as our first announcement for the live at the castle shows in 2024.”
“Paul Weller is a true icon with a career spanning decade and certainly one not to be missed.”
Weller’s influence on British music began as frontman of The Jam and later continued with The Style Council, before embarking on a successful solo career.
Weller’s 2022 compilation, ‘Will of the People’, followed his 17th solo album ‘An Orchestrated Songbook’, which was recorded with award-winning arranger Jules Buckley and the BBC Orchestra.
