MET Éireann has warned of “very difficult travelling conditions” and the possibility of fallen trees and damage to power lines across County Limerick in a Status Orange weather warning to come into place tomorrow (Sunday January 21) evening as Storm Isha hits Ireland.

The weather service issued the Status Orange warning coming into place tomorrow evening at 5pm and running until 2am on Monday morning.

Met Éireann says that “large coastal waves with wave overtopping; very difficult travelling conditions; fallen trees; and damage to power lines” may be among the effects of Storm Isha passing over the country, with “very strong southwest winds with severe and damaging gusts”.

The Road Safety Authority issued a statement urging drivers to use caution while driving, while Gas Networks Ireland reassured its 720,000 customers that it “does not anticipate any disruption to gas supplies during Storm Isha”.
