Fresh weather warning issued for Limerick as second storm to hit Ireland

LIMERICK has been hit with a further weather warning after Storm Isha battered the county this past Sunday (January 21).

Now, Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for the county as a second storm is set to make landfall in Ireland.

Storm Jocelyn will be the latest storm to bring unsettled conditions to Ireland, with the yellow warning for Limerick coming into affect from 5pm on Tuesday evening until 2am on Wednesday morning.

Those in the Treaty can expect very strong and gusty southwest to west winds, according to the weather service.

The yellow warning will affect Limerick, Leitrim, Sligo, Clare, Kerry, Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan, Cork, Tipperary, Waterford, and Roscommon.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann also issued an orange wind warning for Donegal, Galway, and Mayo, who bore the brunt of Storm Isha.

The forecaster said that there is a risk of coastal wave overtopping, debris, and difficult travelling conditions as a result of the storm.
