Compliance of planning permissions in Castletroy raised with council

Limerick Labour Party councillor Elena Secas.

LABOUR councillor Elena Secas quizzed the local authority on what steps, if any, have been taken to ensure that planning permissions granted in Castletroy in the past 15 years were compliant with the condition to provide a crèche where such conditions was part of the permissions.

She also asked at the recent Metropolitan District meeting about the steps taken to address this issue, given that no operational crèche has been provided under any of those permissions to date.

Senior Planner Nuala O’Connell said that the responsibility to ensure that planning permissions, including the attached conditions, are complied with and implemented in accordance with the permission, which rests with the applicant/developer.
