COUNTY Limerick TD Richard O’Donoghue is predicting gains in the upcoming elections for the new Independent Ireland party, of which he is a founding member and general secretary.
In Limerick, the party’s candidates include Esther Aherne (Limerick City West), Cllr John O’Donoghue (Adare-Rathkeale), Tommy Hartigan (Adare-Rathkeale), Gráinne Hanley (Cappamore-Kilmallock), Jim Barrett (Newcastle West), Pat King (Newcastle West), and Ruth Clarke (Limerick City North).
In Europe, candidates include Eddie Punch (Ireland South), Niall Boylan (Dublin), and Ciarán Mulooly (Midlands North West).
Deputy O’Donoghue is counting on recent polling figures to put ticks in Independent boxes.
“We have a very strong team running across several elections on Friday, and we are confident that Independent Ireland will be well represented after the weekend,” said Deputy O’Donoghue.
“Our candidates are passionate about making our counties better, much better. They are all well suited to Independent Ireland, and I hope our party will gain extra representation at local Government and European level.”
