London post-punk outfit Dry Cleaning bring their latest record to Limerick performing at Dolan’s this Saturday April 18 with support from Search Results followed by After Show Party on Dolans Terrace.

Florence Shaw, guitarist Tom Dowse, drummer Nick Buxton and bassist Lewis Maynard have carved out a distinctive place in rock’s avant-garde, catalysing the Reaganite paranoia of early 1980s US punk with the dry strut of Keith Richards, stoner rock and dystopian degradation.

Florence’s deadpan delivery, meticulously calibrated to her bandmates’ soundscapes, asserts her in a lineage of spoken-word artists stretching from Laurie Anderson to Limerick’s Sinead O’Brien.  Their live shows are compelling, hypnotic experiences. Watch their videos on YouTube to learn all the dance moves created for their recent singles such as Cruise Ship Designer and Joy. The band released Secret Love, their third studio album, through 4AD in January 2026, following 2023’s Stumpwork. The record was assembled across a series of sessions spanning multiple continents, with the transatlantic recording process giving the album a notably eclectic character.

Dry Cleaning recorded part of their latest album, Secret Love, in Dublin, collaborating with Daniel Fox and Alan Duggan of Gilla Band.

Vocalist Florence Shaw has spoken enthusiastically about the partnership, describing Gilla Band as a group they had long admired and wanted to work with, handing them some of the album’s more challenging tracks to help crack open.

Work began at the Loft, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy’s studio in Chicago, before louder, more abrasive takes were tracked in Dublin at Sonic Studios.

The album was ultimately completed in France’s Loire Valley, with Cate Le Bon producing at the remote Black Box studio.

Search Results are a Dublin three-piece — Fionn Brennan (guitar), Jack Condon (drums) and Adam Hoban (bass) — formed in 2019 around a shared love of punk and garage rock.  The band have been steadily making a name for themselves with Clash, DIY, Dork and So Young among the outlets tipping them for wider recognition.
