STUDENTS from six Limerick schools were rathúil (successful) during a Gaelbhratach (Irish flag) ceremony in Mary Immaculate College (MIC).

Delivered by Gael Linn, the national programme is designed to encourage students at primary and post-primary level to use Irish beyond the classroom.

Limerick schools awarded on the day were Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ, St Clement’s College, Hazelwood College, Mungret Community College, Ardscoil Mhuire, and Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, Monamuck.

A past pupil on the scheme, Máire Ní Churraoin, TV presenter, sean-nós singer, and social media influencer said: “Gaeilge is such an important part of my life and identity, and it continues to open doors for me in so many ways.”
