“Food matters, cooking for family and friends is as important to me as sending any morsel out to customers from my kitchen in Mayfair,” he continued.

Members of the Munster Rugby Academy will join the celebrity chef for the first live cooking demonstration ever held at Thomond Park Stadium.

Rising young rugby stars, Kieran Essex, Mike Sherry and Conor Murray, will line out beside Richard Corrigan to prepare some recipes that are in keeping with the nutritional advice they have learned as part of their academy training.

“It is important for us to develop our academy players for life as a professional player,” Ian Shirwin Academy Director explained.

“We spend a lot of time and effort developing the technical skill and the supporting knowledge but we rethought our approach in 2010 and decided that practical application would solidify the learning so we developed the Munster Academy nutrition, lifestyle and food programme,” he continued.

A gifted chef whose enthusiasm and knowledge of food is boundless Richard Corrigan’s food demonstration is certain to guarantee that even the most nervous of cooks will depart Thomond Park with more than they arrived.

“Thomond Park Stadium is an innovative stadium this is reflected in the magnitude and latitude of the various events run here. An Evening with Richard Corrigan is a first step in working to develop and highlight the quality produce we have in the Munster area. We hope that this is the first of many such events.” John Cantwell managing director of Thomond Park Stadium explained.
