Jack and his gigantic beanstalk

NEWS of Centrestage’s Chrstimas panto ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ was launched by Mayor Gerry McLoughlin in Belltable Arts Centre to a friendly, costumed and youthful gathering. PRO for the party Kieran O’Brien has got in touch with Arts page to forecast what lies ahead for the December/ January high jinks for Jack and his challenges with slippery bean stalks and menacing giants.

“Mrs Potty is pulling up her bloomers, Jack is heading to the Giant’s Castle, Milky-White is put up for sale, the Golden Goose is running mad ‘Gangnam style’, and the Bankers are moving in. Yes, it’s panto time again and celebrating its 15th year, CentreStage Productions is returning to that all time favourite pantomime, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ to lift the recession blues this Christmas”.

From the team who brought last year’s sell out hit panto ‘Cinderella’ comes the magical, comical, innovative twist on the classic, penned by the mighty Mike Finn. The show will open pre-Christmas on Wednesday December 12 at 6.30pm.

“This year’s Pantomime has all the magic you would expect in a pantomime for all the family with magical set design and puppetry by award winning scenic artist Emma Fisher. The overall production is taking shape under director Richie Ryan from CentreStage, choreographer Susan O’Connor and musical director Bryan Meehan. He will be supported by Johnny Daly on percussion. Lighting design is by Dave O’Brien and sound by Ray Nash”.
