Shadow puppetry enhances Jack’s Beanstalk world

WITH the combined heft of Richie Ryan director, Mike Finn writer of panto ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, and the wonderful world of puppetry, we are in for magic. The Belltable pantomime opened this Wednesday 12 and is a unique show in its use of shadow puppets, those animated silhouettes with whom any sort of divilment and dare is possible.

In charge of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’s artistry, Richie points out that “this is the first time we have used puppets as an integrated part of our production. The shadow puppetry is fantastic and magical, as large puppets can be seen as part of the Beanstalk, the Giant’s Castle  and playing along with Gabby the Goose, Harpo and bags of monies for the not so bright Mr Giant”.

Darren Shine acts the Dame, Mrs Potty: – “People can be sure of an entertaining plot and hilarious entertaining characters.”

The live music is top notch too, with Bryan Meehan and John Daly. Susan Ryan is an experienced choreographer; uppets, set and costume design are all by Emma Fisher.
