SAINT Mary’s Cathedral has announced some upcoming events at the cathedral have been cancelled due to concerns over Covid-19 (Coronavirus).

“Many of the events which were due to take place in Saint Marys Cathedral have been cancelled due to Covid-19 concerns. We apologise for any inconvenience. Thank you for your support,” the statement reads.

Luke Jerram’s ‘Gaia’, a scaled three-dimensional replica of planet Earth, which was to arrive at the cathedral in line with Limerick’s St Patrick’s Festival was the first event to be cancelled.

Organisers at St Mary’s Cathedral also announced that the venue’s popular lunchtime concerts set to take place on March 25 and throughout April would also be cancelled due to concerns over the virus.
