#NewMusic – The Tatty Truth reveals anti-war song

DES Ryan was a familiar face on the Limerick music scene in the mid 90’s working with
Pumpdwellers, recording at Xeric Studios with Pearse Gilmore producing and accompanied on drums by school friend Fergal Lawlor (The Cranberries).
The highly regarded demo tapes caught the attention of David Sylvian (Japan).

Since then Des took time out to travel the world, returning to Limerick recently and setting up a studio where he recorded a new album called ‘Who Is This Man’ under the moniker The Tatty Truth.
The Tatty Truth have announced the immediate availability of ‘For Nothing’, the second single ahead of the release of the debut album due in October.

The anti-war song is inspired by the recent fall of Kabul.
“I, like many, have been struck by current events in Afghanistan” said Des Ryan of The Tatty Truth. “I had the bones of this song written but the footage from Kabul was so shocking that I sat down and wrote the words, and was in the studio within hours”.
