Limerick camogie to open their All-Ireland campaign with a tricky fixture

LIMERICK open their All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship with a tricky away assignment against Antrim in Dunloy this afternoon (kick-off, 3pm).

Under the management of John Lillis, Limerick are grouped (3) with Antrim, Offaly, and Waterford. Only the fixture with Waterford is at home for the Shannonsiders. In the Munster Championship, which is run separate to the All-Ireland series, Limerick fell to Clare at the Gaelic Grounds.

Key players for Limerick include Muireann Creamer (Cappamore), Marian Quaid (Bruff), Claire Keating (Cappamore), Orlaith Kelleher (Croagh/Kilfinny), Adare pair Caoimhe Costello and Sophie O’Callaghan, and Lizanna Boylan of Na Piarsaigh.

In the Junior Championship, Limerick opened up their campaign with a runaway win over Offaly in Cappamore. Ahane’s Sarah Cosgrove grabbed an impressive 2-1 and Laura Southern (Monaleen) 1-3 for the winners.
