AS spooky season approaches, a Limerick based pumpkin patch has been named among the top 10 best in Ireland.

Curraghchase Garden Centre came in at number 9 on the top 10 best pumpkin picking patches in Ireland.

The research was compiled by recipe box delivery company HelloFresh Ireland based on popularity, affordability, and customer ratings.

The company used online search data, as well as ranking the patches on the cost of family admission, the number of social media followers each had, and Google ratings.

According to Curraghchase’s website, the price of family admission is €35 for two adults and two children.

The pumpkin patch at Curraghchase offers families the opportunity to pick their perfect pumpkin, as well as use of utensils for onsite carving, access to the storytelling tent, and a trip through their spooky tunnel.

Topping HelloFresh’s list was Nore Valley Park’s pumpkin patch in Kilkenny, due to its affordability and online ratings.

The site offers family activities such as pumpkin carving, scare mazes, and treasure hunts.

Rounding out the top three were Luggwoods pumpkin patch in Dublin and Ballycross Apple Farm in Wexford.

HelloFresh recommends that once families have picked and carved their spooky creation, they use the rest of their pumpkin to make seasonal treats such as pumpkin soup or prawn and squash curry.
