Lee names Limerick team for McGrath Cup opener

JIMMY Lee has named his first ever starting selection as Limerick Senior Football manager.

The side face Munster champions Kerry in the opening-round of the McGrath Cup Senior Tournament at Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Saturday (2pm).

Iain Corbett of three-in-a-row champions Newcastle West has been announced as captain for 2024.

Limerick: Aaron O’Sullivan (Pallasgreen); Jim Liston (Gerald Griffins), Seán O’Dea (Kilteely/Dromkeen), Brian O’Sullivan (Newcastle West); Robbie Childs (Galtee Gaels), Iain Corbett (Newcastle West), Paul Maher (Adare); Emmet Rigter (Newcastle West), Cillian Fahy (Dromcollogher/Broadford); Andrew Meade (Rathkeale), Barry Coleman (Rathkeale), Bryan Nix (Newcastle West); Darragh Siochrú (Monaleen), John Hayes (St. Kieran’s), Eoin Hurley (Newcastle West).

The reserves bench includes goalkeeper Jeffrey Alfred (Adare), Ruadhán O’Connor (Newcastle West) and Tony McCarthy, Kildimo/Pallaskenry.
