
GARDAĆ are investigating a gun attack at a house located on the south side of Limerick City this Wednesday morning (April 29).
Shots were fired at a residential property after 5am.
No one was injured in the gun attack, which was the latest in a string of shootings in the area over the past year.
A Garda spokeswoman said: āGardaĆ attended the scene following report of an incident involving the discharge of a firearm, at a residential location in the Ballinacurra area, Limerick City, this morning, Wednesday 29th April 2026 at approximately 5:30am.ā
āNo injuries have been reported at this time. Investigations are ongoing,ā they added.
The gun attack is one of a string of violent attacks in the same community in recent weeks and months.
Several Garda investigations are continuing into drive-by shootings, and pipe bomb attacks in the area.
Last Sunday afternoon, a male was injured and treated in hospital following a hatchet/slash hook attack at Hyde Road.
Itās unclear at this stage if this morningās shooting is linked to the other recent violence in the area.
GardaĆ are investigating if the latest shooting is linked to ongoing feuding between rival families and organised crime groups based on the southside of the city.
