Limerick is bursting into life this week with one of its biggest and most varied events calendars of the year. Anchoring it all is Riverfest Limerick 2026, the beloved bank holiday festival returning to the city centre from Friday May 1 through Monday May 4, bringing live concerts at King John’s Castle, street parties, circus spectacle, a fashion festival, the Great Limerick Run, and a spectacular fireworks finale. But the fun starts earlier, with a packed Thursday night of theatre, comedy, tango, and film, and carries through into Wednesday June 6 with book launches, choral performances, and stand-up comedy. Whether you’re after world-class live music, family-friendly fun, local theatre, or a quiet afternoon at the Milk Market, there is something in Limerick this week for everyone.
