THREE new defibrillator boxes have been installed to help provide life-saving infrastructure for residents on the outskirts of Limerick City in Westbury, Shannon Banks, and Parteen.

The boxes were installed in the local Applegreen, at St Nicholas Church, and at Barron’s Spar, Griffins Cross.

It is understood that opportunities for training on the defibrillators locally will take place soon.

One local man described the installations as a “progressive step forward in public safety in our area in Clare/Limerick”.

The defibrillators, according to Cllr James Ryan, were sponsored by National Motors, O’Connell Quarries, Applegreen, and Mary T Ryan Pharmacy.
